ReplyDelete2. Pretending to be someone you’re not makes you a weak person.
I disagree with this because sometimes people have to act differently than who they are in order to achieve positive goals. For example, if you family is really poor but you don't act like you are super poor it's not a totally bad thing.
10. It’s worth losing friends if you’re making a positive change for yourself.
I agree with this because really it's in your best interests to not hang out with people who don't make you your best self. Although really people do this all the time, most people actually have a friend who is not the best influence.
9. An alcoholic parent is a bad parent.
ReplyDeleteIf someone is an alcoholic, it does not make them a bad parent. You could drink alcohol, and be one of the best parents in the world. It is not if you drink liquor or not that defines your quality as a parent, it is how you treat, raise, and care for your child. Being an alcoholic may affect those things, but that is not true in every single person.
10. It is worth losing friends if you’re making a positive change for yourself.
It is worth losing friends, if you are trying to make yourself better. If someone is an actual friend, they won’t leave you; they will try to help you make yourself better. Anyways, you should be your first priority, not your friends. You should worry about if you are not good enough for yourself, not if you are not good enough for others.
I agree because a good friend will always be by your side helping you to achieve your dreams.
DeleteI also agree with you and Devins reply without friends life can be lonely and dreams can turn into nightmares. friends are very important in a persons life.
DeleteI agree with greg because not every alcoholic is aggressive and will not beat their family or friends
Delete9. An alcoholic parent is a bad parent.
ReplyDeleteIf a parent drinks alcohol doesn’t mean they will be abusive. Parents that drink alcohol could be one of the best parents ever.
6. If you are making fun of your own race, its not racism.
It think that if you make fun of your own race than you are making fun of everybody that is the same race and youself.
4. A person’s responsibility to their family (or their tribe or community) is more important than their individual goals. (Or dreams)?
ReplyDeleteI am in between agreeing and disagreeing because it is very important to have goals and dreams in life but without the love of your family its is lonely and a crappy way to grow up with no family.
12. Stereotypes are never true?
I agree with this statement. They are never true because they judge or look at them before they ever get to know them and it is not how they actually are.
I agree with you on number four. It is hard to choose between those two things.
DeleteI agree with #12 because its like judging a book by its cover, you dont know if its good or bad until you read it and you only know how someone really is you get to know them
Delete5. Anyone can raise themselves out of poverty if they have enough determination, no matter how bad the circumstances.
ReplyDeleteI agree because so many people in the world have done it. A good example of this is the famous rapper Eminem. He was raised in the slums and now if you say his name, everybody knows who he is.
6. If you are making fun of your own race, it’s not racism.
I disagree because other people of the same race might take offense to it. For example, If you and your friend are joking and call each other crackers and call some random kid a cracker, he might be upset about it cause you are disrespecting him.
I agree with your thoughts on number six. Racism is racism, even if you are just joking around.
DeleteI agree with devin because if you make fun of your race than your are making fun of everybody that is the same race and making fun of yourself
DeleteI also agree with number 5 because i have seen eminems movie 8 mile and it talks about his story in there also he has had many interveiws that i have seen and he had a very poor childhood.
ReplyDeleteI agree with you tanner because he was very poor when he was young with his brother and looking at him know he is very rich and has a family
Delete4. A person’s responsibility to their family (or their tribe or community) is more important than their individual goals.
ReplyDeleteI think that responsibilities to your family and your community are more important than their individual goals. The community is where you grew up and they are the people you know the most.
11. My ethnicity is one of the defining traits that make me who I am.
A person could be a certain culture but live in a different country and act different from the culture.
