Due Thurs. Dec. 4th
1. My Thanksgiving is not just about gathering together and eating food. My family does do that, but they do it in a certain way. We always have at least one relative come over. We all work together, as a family, to cook, prepare, and plan Thanksgiving. We do it as a family, because that is the thing that we are most grateful for, to have family.
ReplyDelete2. I feel that Thanksgiving is a time to look back in our lives, and remember all that has been good. To look at the present and see what you love, and to look to the future and see what can be better. It is a time to be grateful, for those we love, for those that are there, and those that cannot be. It is a time of love, peace, and thanks.
3. “I always think that it’s funny when Indians celebrate Thanksgiving” (Alexie 101).
4. The narrator thinks that Thanksgiving is kind of pointless to celebrate, as he is a Native American. He thinks this because it was originally celebrated to commemorate the friendly feast between pilgrims and Native Americans, but just a few years after the feast, pilgrims were slaughtering them.
1. Every year for Thanksgiving me and my brother sleep in and my mom and dad gets up extra early to start preparing for our Thanksgiving feast. When my brother and I wake up we go downstairs and help prepare. Then we usually always eat at the same time every year at about 3:00.
ReplyDelete2. Thanksgiving is fun and it’s a great time to spend with your family.
3. That every year he used to have a pumpkin pie eating contest with his friend Rowdy. “For the last ten years, he’d come over to my house and have a pumpkin-pie eating contest with me” (pg.102).
4. The narrator think that it is a very fun time but he also thinks that the Indians have nothing to be thankful for.
I agree with you Tanner. He thinks that is is fun, but does not see the point of having it.
DeleteI also think you have a good point in #4 Tanner, Thanksgiving has to do with Indians but really, what do they have to be thankful for. Super smart.
Delete1. My Thanksgiving started out just a little uncomfortable just because there was a whole bunch of people I didn’t really know. They were really nice after I got to know them and we had an awesome time.
ReplyDelete2. I think Thanksgiving is one of the most important holidays because it reminds us of everything we have and what to be thankful for.
3. “ I mean, sure, the Indians and Pilgrims were best friends during that first Thanksgiving, but a few years later, the Pilgrims were shooting Indians” (pg 101).
